How the programme works

Where no competent-person written examination scheme sets another interval, the model uses a 6-month planning interval for equipment lifting people and lifting accessories, and 12 months for other lifting equipment. It never declares an item compliant or safe to use.

Sources and cost limits

HSE describes the default 6- and 12-month thorough-examination intervals, reporting requirements and the possibility of a written examination scheme. Providers commonly quote per item with site mobilisation, reporting and access factors changing the total, so this is an editable grouped-visit range rather than a fixed tariff.

Ask for asset references or serials, item count, the examination basis and the report deliverable. Do not compare two lump sums with different lists.

What happens if a defect is found?
